Leon's in the party. Excalibur is waiting at Castle Deist. The Jade Passage sits at the mouth of Hell, and everything past it is endgame. Slow down, stock up, and make sure your bestiary is clean before you fly southwest.
Castle Fynn (Part 4)
The Wyvern drops you in Castle Fynn's throne room after the chaos at Palamecia. Leon stands with the group now, no longer the Dark Knight but your permanent fourth party member. Equip him immediately. He'll stick around through the credits, so give him your best spare gear.
Firion walks out automatically, but head back into the throne room and talk to Hilda. She teaches you Jade Passage, the final password. That's 15 of 15. Ask her and Gordon about it for the full picture: the Jade Passage leads underground to Pandaemonium, where the Emperor has set up shop.
Castle Deist (Part 3)
Fly the Airship northeast to Castle Deist. Walk inside, go up the stairs, and find the woman and child on the right side of the second floor. Talk to her and ask about Dragoons.
She's leaving Deist for good. But before she goes, she hands you Excalibur. Best raw stats on any sword in the game. Equip it on Guy; his sword skill should be high enough to make full use of it. If you've been leveling Firion's sword skill too, that's fine, but Guy benefits more from the pure attack power since Leon needs the Blood Sword for what's coming.
The Journey Southwest
Board the Airship and fly southwest. The Jade Passage entrance is near some mountains on the edge of a large landmass. Before you land, check your bestiary. You should only be missing 22 entries at this point:
#034 Blood Demon, #037 Chimera Sphinx, #047 Zombie Borghen, #060 Mega Parasite, #062 Devil Wolf, #064 Pit Fiend, #067 Great Malboro, #069 Salamander, #070 Ice Lizard, #072 Hecteyes, #075 Abyss Worm, #089 Mantis Devil, #092 Death Rider, #095 Mythril Golem, #119 King Behemoth, #122 Blue Dragon, #123 Red Dragon, #124 Iron Giant, #125 Tiamat, #126 Beelzebub, #127 Astaroth, #128 Emperor.
Missing anything else? Go back and find it. You can't easily return after this.
Jade Passage
Fourteen chests, 14 enemy types, 3 boss-in-chest fights, and a hidden magic vendor behind a waterfall. The dungeon is linear but the waterfalls deal damage when you walk through them; heal after each crossing. Every floor ramps up the encounter difficulty; Great Malboros and Chimera Sphinxes replace the softer enemies from earlier dungeons.
B1. Head straight down from the entrance to the next area. Go right and down to find chest 1 (Hellfire). Then head to the bottom-left corner for chest 2 (Hellfire). Work your way right to the door and up the stairs.
B2. Go right and hug the left wall upward to chest 3 (Hellfire). Follow the water path right and around the bend; there's a small side path on the right with chest 4 (Cat Claws). Continue down the water path to the wider section at the bottom. Chest 5 is waiting for you down there. Open it.
From the Blue Dragon chest, head right until you hit a wall. Go up and squeeze through a narrow passage between green vines. The door to the next area is at the top. Go through and up the stairs.
B3. Follow the winding path and go right when you can. Keep walking along the corridor. You'll pass a door (ignore it for now) and a waterfall that damages you on contact. Past the waterfall, the path goes down. Take the stairs down, continue forward, then head down again when possible. First chance you get to go up, take it. Chest 6 is in the alcove.
Magic vendor. Backtrack down the stairs from the King Behemoth alcove. Go left and follow the path underneath the waterfall. A mage is standing behind it selling Berserk, Death, Flare, and Haste Tomes. Buy Berserk and Haste if you haven't already. Flare is worth grabbing too, but it needs serious leveling before it outdamages physical attacks.
Continue right past the vendor. Three doors. Take the far-right door and go up the stairs.
B4. Head right and up. Chest 7 (Betrayal Fang) is near some jagged rock. Go around the left side of that rock formation to the top. There's a door here leading to a room with 3 chests: Holy Lance, Hi-Potion, and Protect Ring. Holy Lance is solid on Leon as a secondary weapon. After looting the room, go back out and head right. Chest 11 is in the top-right corner.
The Yoichi Bow is the best bow in the game. Give it to whoever's been using bows (probably Maria). From the Red Dragon chest, go straight down. At the bottom, the door and stairs to the right lead to the next area.
B5. Follow the single winding path. You'll grab chest 12 (Hi-Potion) along the way as the path curves left, then chest 13 (Protect Ring) straight ahead. Ignore the door you pass. Chest 14 (Elixir) sits in the top-right corner before the path bends down toward the exit.
Final area. Go right and down. The purple telepad at the end of this corridor warps you straight into Pandaemonium. No turning back now. Save before you step on it.
Enemy Encounters
14
14 enemy types in the Jade Passage. Blue Dragon, King Behemoth, and Red Dragon are chest monsters. The remaining 11 roam the dungeon floors. White Dragon and Green Dragon also appear as random encounters here.
Treasure Chests
14
14 chests across 5 floors. Three are guarded by boss-level monsters. The Rune Axe and Yoichi Bow are the standout pickups; Holy Lance is a solid secondary weapon for Leon.
