Castle Fynn is yours to take back. 27 chests, a boss who snowballs if you stall, and the only permanently missable location in the entire game. All in one chapter.
Return to Altair
Sail back the way you came. Dock at Altair's port and walk into town. Rest at the inn, restock Antidotes and Potions if you're running low. Gatrea is also nearby if you need a second shop. Talk to the guard at the entrance and he'll direct you northwest to the Rebel Camp.

Rebel Camp
From Altair, go northwest across the land. The Rebel Camp is a short walk. Only Hornets and Leg Eaters out here; nothing you haven't dealt with a dozen times.

Inside, talk to Hilda and Gordon. They're preparing the assault on Castle Fynn and need you to lead the charge. Once you've spoken to both, leave and canoe north across the water. Castle Fynn is right there.
Retaking Castle Fynn
Walk through the gates and Leila intercepts you. She heard about the fight and wants in. Leila rejoins as your fourth party member, so equip her with your best spare weapon and armor before pushing forward.

You'll see treasure chests in the first area. But ignore them for now. Go straight up and through the first area. Climb the stairs behind Leila's position and keep pushing north through a few more sets of stairs until you reach the throne room.
Gottos
Gottos is waiting in the throne room. Don't bother with buffs on your own party. This fight is a race. He spends his first turns casting Haste and buffing his own attack. If the fight drags past 4-5 rounds, those stacked buffs let him one-shot your party members. You want him dead before that happens.

Honestly one of the more annoying bosses in FF2. Not because he's clever, but because he punishes you for playing it safe. Just swing.
Castle Fynn is liberated. Talk to Hilda in the throne room and she'll mention Mysidia. Learn it, then ask her about it. She responds with Masks. Learn that too and ask about it. She'll give you one more: Ekmet Teloess.

Find Gordon elsewhere in the castle. Ask him about Mysidia and he teaches you Ultima Tome, the legendary ultimate spell. Learn it and ask him about it for more context.

That's 4 new passwords. Ekmet Teloess is the one you need right now. It opens a secret door in the throne room that leads to the underground and the White Mask.
Upper Castle Chests
Make your way back down to the 1st floor. There are 10 chests across the upper floors before you touch the underground. Some involve hidden wall passages — walk into walls that look solid; the game doesn't tell you they're there.
Castle Fynn - 1F
From the entrance, go up and left through an opening. Follow the path up at the first gap to find chest 1. Return to the middle, take the right opening, go up and then left at the fork. Follow that path for chests 2 and 3. You'll notice hidden walls marked on the map — we'll grab those chests on the way to the underground.

Castle Fynn - 3F
From the path to chest 1, continue past that opening and go down to the stairs in the bottom-left corner. Take those stairs, then take the next set right beside them. In this third area, go all the way right, all the way up, and through the door. Chests 4, 5, and 6 are inside.

Castle Fynn - 2F
Go back downstairs to the 1st floor and take the center stairs up to 2F.

Go left through the opening. Chest 7 is in the room just above you (monster chest, so be ready). Below that room, there's a hidden gap in the wall. Walk through it and go up to the top-left corner for chest 8.

Return to the middle and take the right opening. Chest 9 is in the room above (another monster chest). In the top-right corner of that room is another hidden wall gap. Go through and down the passage for chest 10.

Castle Underground
Make your way up to the throne room. In the top-right corner, use the Ekmet Teloess password to open the secret door. Go through and down 3 sets of stairs — you'll end up back on 1F, in the top-right area.

Walk through a hidden wall gap to get outside the castle. Be careful not to stray too far from the walls or you'll end up on the world map.

Follow the outer wall down and through another hidden gap to get back inside. The door in the bottom-right section leads to a room with chests 11, 12, and 13.

Go back to where you came through the first hidden gap and take the stairs down. Five floors of undead, monster chests, and the White Mask at the bottom. Wraiths, Specters, Revenants, and Ghasts fill every corridor down here. Fire magic tears through all of them. Rhyos shows up in a monster chest on B5, and his Bad Breath inflicts Poison, Curse, and Amnesia in one hit. Kill him before he gets a turn.
Castle Fynn - B1
Take the path down and to the right for chest 14. Then go back and turn left. You'll hit a wall — go around it for chest 15. From there, continue right and down through the opening for chest 16. Take the stairs down.

Castle Fynn - B2
Loop around either side of the room. Chest 17 is in the bottom-right corner. From there, go all the way left and down for chest 18. Go back up, and when the path splits, take the left fork. Chest 19 is at the top. Return to the split, go right, and follow the path to the stairs.

Castle Fynn - B3
Go right, then straight down to the bottom-right corner for chest 20. Ignore the door nearby (dead end). Go back up and left, then follow the path down to chest 21. Avoid the other door too — another dead end. The top-left area has chest 22. Stairs to B4 are just below.

Castle Fynn - B4
Follow the path up. Chest 23 is in the north-middle area (monster chest). Walk back down and follow the path until you can go up or right. Go up and all the way right for chest 24 in the top-right corner. Return to the split and take the right/down path. Chest 25 is mid-right, and the stairs down are directly below it.

Castle Fynn - B5
Turn right and walk up at the third opening. When the path splits, take the left route for chest 26. This is a monster chest with Rhyos. Watch out for Bad Breath; it's brutal. Keep going up and right. You'll see 6 doors. Take the fifth from the left.

Open chest 27 for the White Mask. You'll need this in Mysidia. Walk past the chest and step on the purple teleport pad to warp out.

27 chests cleared, 4 passwords learned, and the White Mask in hand. See that save point? Use it. Next stop is Mysidia, the town of mages. Sail south across the sea.
