Back at Castle Fynn after the Mysidian Tower. Hilda has grim news: the Emperor's Cyclone is tearing across the world, destroying towns. You'll need to hatch a Wyvern, collect Paul's hidden stash in Fynn (including the most broken weapon in the game), and fly straight into the storm.

Castle Fynn (Part 2)

Head into the throne room and talk to Hilda. She'll mention the Cyclone keyword. Learn it and ask about it. She confirms the only way inside the tornado is by air. Lucky for you, there's one Wyvern egg left.

Go back to the ground floor and take the stairs in the bottom-left corner. Climb the next staircase too. Walk up the narrow corridor and through the door at the end. See that mirror at the top of the room? Use the Pendant on it.

The last Wyvern egg appears in the mirror and hatches on the spot. The newborn Wyvern flies in and reunites with Ricard. (This room apparently doesn't have a ceiling.) The Wyvern carries you outside automatically. Before you rush to the Cyclone, stop in Fynn first. Trust me on this one.

Fynn: Paul's Stash

Enter Fynn and go to Paul's house in the bottom-left corner. Talk to Paul and ask about the Cyclone. He tells you he's been hoarding equipment and wants you to have it. Walk to the bottom-right corner near his bed. There's a hidden passage through the wall.

Eight chests are waiting in the secret room. Open all of them. The standout is the Blood Sword, and it's not close.

But there's a catch. The Blood Sword heals undead enemies instead of hurting them, and it drains *your* HP in the process. Never equip it against Vampire Girls, Vampire Ladies, or any undead enemy. Swap to a normal weapon for those fights.

The remaining chests have Diamond equipment and consumables. Equip what you can and restock at the Fynn shops. Save on a separate file. The Cyclone is a one-time dungeon.

The Cyclone

Walk the short distance from Fynn to the Cyclone. The Wyvern drops you in.

The dungeon is a vertical climb through winding paths with staircase after staircase. Electricity panels dot the floors and deal 1 damage per step. Not dangerous, but annoying. The bigger threats are the enemies. Soldiers, Captains, Generals, and Wizards patrol everywhere. Vampire Ladies and Lamias can inflict nasty status effects; keep your HP topped off between fights.

1F-2F. Follow the path to the first set of stairs on the right side. Go up. Head left for chest 1 in the top-left area. Back down, follow the long path left and take the stairs at the end. Go down and left for chest 2 near some electricity panels. Watch your step.

Mid floors. Backtrack to the starting area. From the first stairs, go left and take the middle passage to more stairs. Head left, down, and up the first staircase on your left. Go up slightly and the path splits. Left fork gets you chest 3. Right fork gets chest 4. Simple.

Upper floors. Head back down and follow the path to the next set of stairs. In the next area, two staircases sit close together. Take the left one. Go left and follow the path down (avoid the electricity panel path to the right). Chest 5 has Diamond Gloves. Continue down and left for chest 6, a monster-in-box with 2 Generals. They hit hard; focus one at a time.

Go back and take the right staircase instead. Climb the next set too. Follow the path around to chest 7, another monster-in-box containing a Green Dragon. The Green Dragon has high defense, but the Blood Sword cuts right through it. The chest holds the Wind Flute.

Boss: The Emperor

Stairs near chest 7 lead to the Emperor's chamber. Walk up and three fights trigger back-to-back. No rest between them, so heal up before climbing.

The Emperor sends 3 more Royal Guards at you right after. Same strategy. Then he steps in himself.

The real complication here is the Wood Golem. Its defense stat (120) laughs at normal physical attacks. But Blood Sword doesn't care about defense; it deals the same percentage regardless. Fire spells work too since the Golem is weak to it. Clear the Royal Guards, burn down the Wood Golem, then pile on the Emperor.

The Emperor tries to stall with Slow, Haste, and Barrier. He'll pop an Elixir if you let the fight drag. After he uses Barrier, stop casting spells and go all physical. With Blood Sword equipped, 3,000 HP goes down in a few rounds.

Defeat the Emperor and you're whisked back to Castle Fynn. The Cyclone dissipates.
